Four People Rescued and One Missing from Sunken Fishing Boat in Kep

KEP: A long-tail fishing boat sank in the sea at around 1 am on Tuesday, 27 December, in Kep province.

The boat sank at "Jongpuy," 300 meters to the western side of Tonsay island.

According to authorities, five people were on the boat when it sunk. Four have been rescued so far, but one is still missing.

The four survivors are the 36-year-old boat driver, Phorn Sin; 36-year-old deckhand, Chheng Sim; 42-year-old deckhand, Kieu Tha; and 42-year old deckhand, Ouy Thoeun, all of whom reside in Kampot province.

The sunken boat was eventually pulled out of the water and on to the beach. The one missing crew member is 54-year-old deckhand, Uy Ban, who also resides Kampot province.

Authorities continue to search for the missing person.
